Usage Tips for TV Price Comparison
Our powerful TV price comparison engine makes it faster and easier to compare TV prices than ever before. Unlike other comparison sites, we use direct searching technology; as soon as you search you are taken straight to the results! This differs from other price comparison sites where you have to search, then look through a list of results for the TV you want and then click again before you are finally taken to the TV prices. For example, if you wanted to compare TV prices for every different Sony 37" from their KDL range, you can do a direct model search for KDL37, and this will show prices for all the various Sony KDL 37" models without having to go through a list and select the one you want.
Although you can browse through our entire TV database at any time, the most efficient way to use our site is to do some research into the TV you want and then do a model number search to find the cheapest price possible from a huge range of UK TV retailers. Searching by Model Number
By far the best way to search for the best TV price with our site is with a model number search. As well as giving model number suggestions as you type, our intelligent search system will also pick out model numbers from any query you enter automatically. For instance, if you search for:
Panasonic 42" Plasma TX-P42G10
our search system will automatically extract the model number and display the following:
Did you mean TXP42G10 (11 results found)?
which you can then click to be taken to the search results. Don't worry about whether the model number is hyphenated or not; our TV price comparison system will automatically extract the correct information regardless of this. Our system will also automatically attempt partial matches; so searching for LE37A457 will match TV's with the model number LE37A457C1DXXU and LE37A457C1 as well. There's no need to use an asterisk or other special character to do this.
Searching by Brand, TV Type or Screen Size
If you perform a product title search for "Sony 52" LCD TV", our TV price comparison system will return plenty of results however this is not the best way to search by brand, TV type and screen size. The reason for this is that the results depend entirely on what information the retailers put in the product title. If a particular retailer doesn't include the brand or screen size for example in how they name the product, then the results from that TV retailer won't appear when you do a product title search.
A far superior way to achieve the same thing is to compare all prices and then refine the search. So, with the above example, you would click the special Compare all TV prices link on the homepage, then click Sony as the brand, type in 52 as the screen size (you only need to type the screen size in the first screen size box if you're after an exact size) and then select LCD as the type. This end result is a far more complete set of TV prices to compare; click here to see for yourself.
Once you have found a TV model you would like to compare TV prices for, simply click the blue info icon for your chosen TV and then click [Compare prices for this model] next to the model number shown on the additional information screen. This will then load a full model number search for your chosen TV model.
Linking to Search Results
Linking to your TV price comparison search results is easy. Firstly, you can just copy the URL displayed in your browser, e.g. to link to the TV price comparison results for the Sony KDL37W550, you could use the http://www.comparetvprices.co.uk/ms/KDL37W5500/ URL. However, linking in this fashion will not save your chosen refinement options. To link to results including your chosen refinement options (such as price, screen size, brand, search result ordering), click the "Direct Link" box.
